The Popular Show Campaign 4 Unveils the Fighters Party

From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, fiends, and dark forces growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.

Warning: Spoilers for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.

The Soldiers Table Introduced

Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to begin their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.

This warrior group includes the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).

Dividing the Cast

With an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.

This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Seekers.

The Nature of the Combat Party

According to the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are scarce.

At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear mismatched, but the developments of the third episode show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the group understands precisely where to go next after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.

An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and taking all the magical artifacts to dispose of.

The traitor then cleared his obligations and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, above the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.

Personal Motivations

Moreover, each member has a specific drive to leave the city the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
  • Kattigan has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a hostile place.
  • Tyranny and The healer, having disobeyed his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
  • However, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the party access areas they normally couldn’t.
  • Moreover, Teor swore a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him anywhere.

Fugitives

Finally, all of them are sought by the powers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city dangerous:

  • The rogue and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • Tyranny and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
  • The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This means them no alternative but to head to the remote area in search of Casimir.

What’s Next?

Based on episode three’s follow-up content, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the other eight players to form the Explorers and Strategists tables.

Fans can expect finding out which characters will be where in the season’s last Overture episode, streaming live on October 24.
